Her beautiful smile never fades and the memories seem to grow as the years pass.
Memories such as …….
The hours spent at her kitchen table just talking and enjoying the best of her baking.
The joy of seeing her find just one little new thing for her house.
The door that was always open no matter where we had been or what we were going through.
The cards she sent to all of our children year after year for every special event in their lives.
The helping hand she gave to every church member that had a need.
The phone calls she made to reach out to someone who was alone or sick.
The fun of seeing her all dressed in her best to attend any family celebration she was invited to.
The secret hiding places for her “special chocolates” that were not to be shared with all.
The fun of driving her through our old neighborhood and sharing stories of long ago.
The pride she took in the upkeep of her home and yard.
The care she gave to keeping herself always looking her best.
The beauty of every table that she set for all our family holidays and celebrations.
The acceptance she gave even when she didn’t agree with our choices – she still loved.
The commitment to her church of time and money that touched the lives of so many.
The courage and strength she showed through dad’s long illness.
The encouragement she gave to all of us after dad’s death despite her own exhaustion.
The gift of all these beautiful memories that forever bind us together.
The gratitude we all feel for the gift of you – we miss you mom.
May God forever hold you in His loving arms.
