THIS HOUSE – OUR HOME
This house, our home for thirty two years, that we believe will always be there.
Is one day a memory of faces; of times so long ago – yet can seem like yesterday.
The front door that opened and closed as each of us left for our first home.
The bedroom window that we looked out to see the first snowfall of the season.
The porch light that was always on if we were out late, reminding us that someone loved us.
The living room windows that let our neighbors see our perfect Christmas tree.
The dining room table that served food at birthday parties, bridal showers,
Easter and Thanksgiving dinners and the best of all foods on Christmas Eve.
The kitchen windows where we could look out to see whether dad was home.
The sights, the sounds, the smells, that never really leave us.
The faces of our siblings, and our joys, laughter, fights and tears.
Our parents who showed up day after day to give us the best they had to give.
The front door that opened and closed as each of us left on our wedding day.
This house, our home that is no longer there but will forever be in all of our hearts.
